A man who had been abducted for ransom was recovered on Sunday from Peshawar. The police also arrested two alleged kidnappers while their other accomplice managed to flee.
A special police team has been sent to Peshawar to bring back the alleged kidnappers and the victim. Sharif, a resident of Lahore, lodged a report with the Westridge police that his 26-year-old son Mubashir Sharif had gone to Rawalpindi from Lahore and safely reached the Daewoo Bus Terminal.
When Sharif tried to contact his son a few hours later, his cell phone was off and remained off for the next few days. After a week, he received a call from Mubashir’s number and an unknown man demanded a ransom of Rs10 million for his release.
On Sunday, the Peshawar police raided a hideout in Mad Behera area and recovered Mubashir, while arresting two alleged kidnappers, Zardad Ali and Jan Muhammad, though the third managed to escape.
