The headquarters wing of the police is actively playing helping the Lahore police to maintain law and order in the provincial capital and imparting training to police officials, said Superintendent of Police Headquarters Syed Karrar Hussain.
Sharing the weekly performance of the headquarters wing, he said that 1,280 policemen were deployed in different areas of the city on a daily basis to maintain law and order. He added that cops of operations wing were given training of firing rounds in Firing Range of Police Lines Qilla Gujjar Singh. As many as 250 officials of operations wing were given firing practice with SMG guns and beretta pistols during the past week.
A training course on "Better Service Delivery and Attitudinal Change" was also held to bring improvement in behaviour and working of policemen.
Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unit (PRU) of Lahore police during the crackdown against criminals recovered 19 pistols, 01 rifle, 46 magazine, and bullets.
SP Dolphins Squad Bilal Zafar while sharing details of the weekly performance of both the wings said that crime fighters of Dolphins Squad and PRU also recovered narcotics, including 03kg of hashish and 73 litres of liquor from the accused criminals.
Meanwhile, Lahore police arrested 127 accused in 126 cases during the past week. City Division 23, Cantt Division 51, Sadar Division 06, Iqbal Town 10 and Modal Town 37 accused arrested. "We have also extended cooperation with district and administration for a crackdown on kite making factories without any discrimination," he said. He added that so many young boys have lost their lives while playing kites.
Another newly built state-of-the-art building of a police station in Lahore will be inaugurated on Monday (today). The inauguration ceremony will be held at Badami Bagh police station. Son of martyred police official Head Constable Muhammad Saeed, who lost his life in Raiwind blast, will be the chief guest on the occasion.
Senior police officers, including CCPO BA Nasir, will also attend the event.
