QUETTA:
Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal has said the provincial government has been providing all assistance to the people affected by recent floods and rains, adding that his government has vowed to remove the sense of deprivation from the province.

“The provincial government has been participating fully in the relief and rescue operations across Balochistan and the issues of the flood-affected people will be addressed on a priority basis,” Kamal said on Saturday while meeting with various delegations at his residence in Karachi.

The chief minister said he would visit Lasbela and other districts of Kalat division to review development work. “We have been serving the people of Lasbela for decades and will carry on our services relentlessly.”

The chief minister said the government is ready to utilise all available resources for the prosperity of the masses. “I can see a brighter future for Balochistan as we have already achieved a lot”, he added.

He urged the media to highlight public issues and said the fourth pillar of our society – electronic and print media – should uncover mismanagement in government departments and report on public issues.  “We are ready to take swift steps to address problems faced by the journalist community”.
