UCH SHARIF:
A man allegedly murdered his father-in-law over a marriage dispute in Uch Sharif, Express News reported on Friday.

A police official said that Noor Ahmed, a resident of Makhdoom Pur, married his daughter to Safdar Hussain. He added that after some time, Safdar had an affair with another woman of the area.

He maintained the accused tied the knot with her secretly without the permission of his first wife. However, the official maintained when Noor Ahmed learnt of the matter, he had an argument with his son-in-law. Both men had a heated debate over the issue, but other family members intervened and defused the situation, he said. The police official highlighted that Safdar had developed a grudge against Noor and decided to take revenge over his insult.

On the day of the incident, the suspect and his accomplices barged into the house and murdered Noor Ahmed. Later, they dumped his body in a canal and fled the scene, he pointed out.

The police have registered a case against the accused on the complaint of the deceased’s wife Sakina Bibi. Further investigations are underway.

Earlier, a man killed his father-in-law after being dejected over the divorce from his wife in Sargodha.

The police said that deceased Khizar Hayat used to work as a labourer and arranged the marriage of his daughter Saima Kausar to Abdul Razzaq, a resident of Mozah Salim. However, disputes between the couple ended up in divorce, leaving an already disturbed Razzaq in a vengeful state of mind.
