Police get five-day remand of four accused in Abidi’s murder case
Court adjourns hearing of Naqeebullah murder case due to absence of defence counsel
KARACHI:
The administrative judge of anti-terrorism courts (ATCs) handed over the four accused in the Ali Raza Abidi's murder to police on five day physical remand.
The facilitators, Haseeb, Abu Bakr, Farooq and Ghazali, were presented before the administrative judge in the Sindh High Court.
The investigation officer said that the accused were apprehended from Kharadar. They were involved in the recce of Ali Raza Abidi and the supply of weapons and the money received for committing the murder. A 14-day physical remand was sought to arrest the other absconding suspects.

The ATC adjourned the hearing of the murder case of Naqeebullah Mehsud and three other men till March 18 due to the absence of defence counsel. Former Malir SSP Rao Anwar and DSP Qamar appeared before the court. Investigation officer, Dr Rizwan, and the petitioner's lawyer, Salahuddin Panhwar, also appeared before the court.
The lawyer for the five arrested accused, Majeed Khoso, couldn't appear before the court due to his engagement in the High Court. Khoso had to present arguments againt clubbing the petitioner's pleas together. Plea was filed by petitioner's lawyer maintained that the witnesses in both the cases were same and both the cases should thus be clubbed together. On next hearing Khoso will present arguments.
