Delegation to visit Beijing for negotiating FTA
'Pakistan is also expanding its economic partnership with the outside world'
BEIJING:
Pakistan Ambassador to China Masood Khalid has said that maintaining economic and political stability and regional peace remains a top priority of the country. “Pakistan wants to focus on economic development, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and regional connectivity; and peace and stability are prerequisites for achieving these goals,” he told the China Economic Daily while commenting over the current situation in south Asia. He informed that a delegation was scheduled to arrive this week in Beijing to negotiate a free trade agreement. Replying to a question, he expressed confidence that the current situation would not impact Pakistan’s economy. “We can see from the media reports in the past five or six months that many countries have shown great interest in Pakistan’s market potential,” he added. Pakistan is also expanding its economic partnership with the outside world, Khalid stated.
