Over 1,300 injured in Chiniot accidents in two months
Most road crashes caused because of speeding and negligent driving
CHINIOT:
At least 1,343 people were injured in 1,004 road accidents across Chiniot district during the past two months. Of them, 864 victims suffered critical injuries and were shifted to nearby hospitals.
These statistics were revealed by District Emergency Incharge Tahira Khan during a media briefing in Chiniot.
She said rescue services timely attended and responded to emergency calls comprising 1,004 road crash complaints. She maintained that calls of miscellaneous nature were also received by the rescue service.
Three dead in Islamabad traffic mishap
Tahira pointed out that most road crashes were caused because of speeding and negligent driving. She highlighted that 928 motorcycles, 90 cars, 199 rickshaws, 10 buses, 24 trucks, 58 tractor trolleys and 97 other vehicles were involved in the road crashes.
She said that fire emergency incidents were also reported while rescue services remained active and saved lives by timely response.
