Politicians reacted after two Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft were shot down on Wednesday by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Indian targets across the Line of Control (LoC) were struck by Pakistani fighter jets from within friendly airspace as the country’s armed forces struck back after unprovoked Indian aggression a day earlier.
Opposition leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif took to Twitter saying: "India provoked Pakistan and Pakistan has the right and is capable of defending its frontiers."
Federal Minister of Human Rights Shireen Mazari said on the micro-blogging site that, “PM had warned India if they attack we will not think of responding we will respond. Instead of asking for sanity and condemning India's dangerous brinkmanship, some in the international community applauded India for its attack yesterday. We had the right to respond in self-defence and we did."

India had violated Pakistani airspace, hence Pakistan had a right to defend itself, former President Asif Ali Zardari stated reacting to PAF's response.
"We have never given up the option of peace," said Zardari adding that Modi's warmongering attitude poses a threat to the region.
Federal Railways Minister said that the entire nation is prepared to respond to Indian aggression. "India will have to pay heavily if it engages in aggression."
Finance Minister Asad Umar stated that, "I hope there are no questions left about Pakistan's capability and will to defend itself now."
