'Clean Lahore': Android app for better waste management launched
Citizens can lodge complaints in the app developed by LWMC in collaboration with Punjab IT Board

The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) launched on Monday an Android application to help people lodge their complaints regarding waste management in the city.
'Clean Lahore' has been developed in collaboration with Punjab IT Board to provide "citizens a simple and instant way to log complaints".
"The complaints are assigned to the designated staff of LWMC and a complete redressal mechanism and assignment matrix is attached with each complaint," reads the app description on Play Store. "Let’s work together to keep Lahore clean."
Addressing the launch ceremony, Punjab Minister for Law and Local Government Raja Basharat appreciated the LWMC and Punjab IT Board for developing "an innovative application to address people's complaints".
Speaking on the occasion, the company's MD Khalid Nazir said that the company was using information technology in its regular operations with an intent to achieve efficiency, transparency and effective control.
Through this application, he added, citizens could submit their complaint with live pictures, live GPS location and comments.
