Land in three tehsils declared state land

Bars the construction of private housing societies

RAWALPINDI: Land allocated for rural population and forests in the three tehsils of Murree, Kotli Satyan and Kahuta have been given the status of state land and has barred the construction of private housing societies on these lands.

The ban on the construction of private housing societies has been imposed by the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) in light of orders issued from the Supreme Court (SC).

However, the tehsils of Rawalpindi, Taxila, Gujjar Khan, and Kallar Sayedan have not been exempt from the ban.



The natural symmetry of these tehsils also placed a question mark on the development of any housing society in these tehsils as there is always a danger of land sliding while a large scale construction on also harms the natural scenery of the areas.

Locals, however, will be allowed to build structures after having their building plans cleared from the relevant authorities. Residents usually build houses in rural areas after drawing their own maps without any prepared building plan.
