Illegal land: Court issues warrants for absconders

Accused had allegedly allotted 27 plots illegally in Scheme 31 and 33

KARACHI: An administrative judge of accountability court issued non-bailable arrest warrants of three accused in the reference filed against former deputy commissioner Qazi Jan Muhammad for the illegal allotment of government plots.

NAB submitted the reference against former deputy commissioner, who along with others was presented before the accountability court. Amir Ali, Ali and Hanif were amongst the accused at large.

Illegal land allotments ‘being looked into’

According to the reference, the accused had allegedly allotted 27 plots illegally in Scheme 31 and 33 and caused a loss of more than Rs2.5 billion to the national exchequer.
