Remembering Sridevi on her first death anniversary

Bollywood insiders took to social media to share their sentiments for the late star

Today marks the first death anniversary of legendary Bollywood star Sridevi and many insiders took to social media to share their sentiments for the late actor, reported Indian Express.


Her daughter, Janhvi Kapoor wrote a heartfelt message for her late mother on Instagram. Posting a picture of their hands entwined, the Dhadak star wrote, "My heart will always be heavy. But I’ll always be smiling because it has you in it." Sridevi passed away at the age of 54.

Film-maker Farah Khan remembered Sridevi by also posting a photo  on Instagram. “When I was just starting out in my career, she was so supportive, so encouraging. Getting the chance to choreograph a Sridevi show or song was like a dream... no wonder I never got awed or starstruck with any other star in my entire career because I started from the TOP!"

She continued, "There never was and never will be anyone like SRIDEVI... love her always." Farah also shared that the photo was from a world tour back in 1994.

Sanjay Kapoor’s wife, Maheep Kapoor posted a photo of herself with Sridevi with a caption that read, “Will always remember the good times ❤️.”

Numerous other personalities took to Twitter to remember the star, including Shabana Azmi and Shekhar Kapur.





Sridevi breathed her last in Dubai on February 24, 2018. The news shocked countless people from all around the globe and left a gaping hole in Indian cinema.

The actor  was last seen posthumously in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Zero, which released in December last year. Before that, she featured in 2017's MOM in a leading role opposite local star Sajal Aly. The film proved to be a box office success.

The renowned star made her Bollywood debut as a child artist in 1975's Julie. She went on to become one of the biggest female actors, and was often called the first Indian female superstar.
