Cricket: Eden Gardens to host England matches

The ground was meant to be used in the 2011 World Cup but the decision was revoked due to delays in preparations.

Kolkata’s Eden Gardens will be the venue for three international matches during the home series against West Indies and England starting in October this year. The Eden Gardens will host a one-off Twenty20 and one One-Day International against England as well as a Test match against the West Indies, the Board of Control for Cricket in India said in a statement after its Tour, Programme and Fixtures Committee met at the Cricket Centre yesterday. The ground was meant to be used in the 2011 World Cup but the decision was revoked due to delays in preparations.
