Renowned historian passes away
While visiting family in the US

Renowned historian Dr Ansar Zahid Khan passed away at the age of 85 on February 19 in the United States of America, where he was visiting his sons. He authored a number of books on history and was serving as the editor of Hamdard Islamicus. He was also the general secretary of the Pakistan Historical Society and the chief editor of its quarterly magazine, the Journal of the Pakistan Historical Society. He is survived by a widow, a daughter and two sons. The Hamdard Pakistan Chairperson Sadia Rashid and the management of Hamdard expressed deep sorrow over his death and prayed that Allah may grant enteral peace to the departed soul and give patience and fortitude to the bereaved family.
