A medical board formed to examine the health of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has suggested him to have an angiography.
Dr Arif Tajammul, the head of medical board, while speaking to media at the Jinnah Hospital in Lahore on Tuesday said that the glucose level and blood pressure of Nawaz were satisfactory.
However, the board has recommended the government officials to carry out the angiography, he added.
Dr Arif maintained that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) top leader had been diagnosed with minor stones in his kidneys, which "is not a cause of serious concern, however, the overall health condition of him is satisfactory".
The three-time premier’s angiography needs to be done and the hospital where he is admitted equipped with state of the art machinery but no medical tests can be carried out without the government’s approval, the physician told reporters.

Maryam passed the remarks while she was in the hospital to inquire about her father’s health.
Separately, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif called for the government to provide uninterrupted medical treatment to Nawaz in the light of medical board's recommendations.
A day earlier, he said that the former prime minister was not satisfied with the medical treatment he was being provided at a local hospital.
