8-year-old’s attempted rapist arrested in Wah Cantt
Father lodges FIR at Wah Cantt police station
RAWALPINDI:
The Rawalpindi police have arrested a man for allegedly attempting to sexually assault an eight-year-old girl. According to the Wah Cantt police, the father of the girl, HM*, had filed a complaint with them. In the complaint, his daughter, along with her two brothers and cousins used to go to a local woman to learn the Holy Quran. On Saturday morning at around 7am, she returned home frightened and crying. After trying for half an hour, HM finally told them that the brother of her teacher had attempted to sexually assault her and had threatened to kill her if she told anyone what had happened. Based on the application filed by HM’s father, a case was registered against the teacher’s brother and he was arrested. Soon after, a number of women and girls in the neighbourhood came forward and accused the suspect of misbehaviour with them, adding that they remained silent to protect their honour. However, the incident and the courage of the eight-year-old girl to tell what had happened had unmasked his true face.
