Hammad Siddiqi ordered to put Baldia factory on fire
Says another MQM-P worker in a confession
KARACHI:
Baldia factory was burnt down on the orders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Organisational Committee In-charge Hammad Siddiqi, and others.
This was stated by eyewitness and police officer who recorded the confessional statement of MQM worker Abdur Rehman alias Bhola while recording their statements before the Special Anti-Terrorism Court hearing the Baldia Factory Fire case.
Eyewitness informed the court that MQM worker Zubair Charya was present at the site when factory was being put on fire. People were burning in the fire inside the factory and Zubair Charya was smiling.
The police officer, while recording his statement said that Bhola confessed about setting the factory on fire in front of the interrogation team. Bhola said that the factory owners were asked to pay Rs25 crore in extortion and the factory was set on fire as the owners failed to pay the money.
The court summoned further witnesses and adjourned the hearing till February 20 after recording the statements.
Both of the witnesses were presented before the court by Rangers prosecutor Sajid Mehboob Sheikh.
