Former foreign minister and senior PML-N leader Khawaja Asif said on Saturday that the conscience of Muslims in India is "unmoved by the atrocities endured daily by Kashmiris".
Reacting to Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi's decision to cancel their visit to Pakistan, the veteran politician added that "the most privileged of Indian Muslims" were protecting their status and being apologetic about their identities.

"Thousands blinded, martyred, and orphaned...to them this is not grim, or outrageous," said Asif.
Akhtar on Friday had announced that he along with his with his wife had cancelled their visit to Karachi after the Pulwama attack.
The couple was all set to visit the country for Kaifi Azmi Literary festival, which was scheduled to take place on February 24 and February 25, in Karachi.

After Akhtar, Shabana also took to twitter to share her thoughts on the matter.
“I am filled with pain and grief and all else ..by the dastardly Pulwama attack . For the first time in all these years, I feel weakened in my belief that people to people contact can force the Establishment to do the right thing. We will need to call halt to cultural exchange.”
