Man stabbed to death over argument in Gujranwala

Police say accused and victim were neighbours

GUJRANWALA: A man was stabbed to death over an argument in Gujranwala, Express News reported on Friday.

Police said that children of 40-year-old Ghulam Mustafa, a resident of Khayali Tower Road, were flying kites along with the kids of their neighbour Muhammad Zaheer.

During the course, the children had a fight over possession of a kite. After hearing their screams, both Ghulam Mustafa and Zaheer reached the spot and got involved in an argument.

When the arguments escalated, accused Zaheer took out a knife and stabbed Ghulam to death. The victim’s body was shifted to Civil Hospital Gujranwala for completing legal formalities.

The police have registered a case against the accused and started investigations.

Earlier, a man was gunned down over a minor dispute in Sargodha.

The police said Muddat Hussain, a resident of Qasba Shah Hussain, used to work as a labourer in the area along with his father and others.

On the day of the incident, Muddat had an argument with accused Qamar Abbas, Mustafa Shah, Munawwar Hussain and Zameer over a minor issue.

However, the others intervened and diffused the situation. When the victim and his father were returning home from work, the accused intercepted them and opened fire on the two. As a result, he was killed on the spot.
