He said that both Kishwar and Majeed wanted to marry each other therefore they decided to murder Waris.
The police official highlighted that on the day of the incident, the victim was present in his home when accused Majeed and Kishwar mixed poison in a drink and gave it to him. When Waris consumed the drink, his condition deteriorated and he fell unconscious, he said.
Later, the accused strangled the man to death. The official pointed out that soon after the murder, the suspects informed the victim’s relatives about his death, citing natural causes.
He said when the deceased’s brother Ramzan came to attend his funeral he witnessed blood oozing from his nose and mouth. This raised suspicion and Ramzan informed the police about the matter. Later, medical examination of the body confirmed that the victim was strangled to death.
