Police nab two bandits in Hafizabad
Gulzar was wanted by police for murdering five people, while Ishrat was wanted in several robbery cases
HAFIZABAD:
At least two bandits, belonging to a notorious gang, were arrested after an encounter with police in Kaleki Mandi area on Thursday.
Reportedly, Sukheki police received a tip-off that four wanted bandits were present at Gharat Pul and were planning to commit robbery. The police team immediately conducted a raid to nab the culprits.
However, when the police party reached the spot, the outlaws opened fire on them and tried to escape. The policemen retaliated and chased the fleeing suspects. After a brief shootout, the police managed to arrest two bandits identified as Ishrat and Gulzar in an injured condition, while their accomplices Umar Hayat and Ijaz fled under the cover of firing.
A police official told Express News that both bandits were involved in a number of robbery, murder and other criminal cases. He revealed that accused Gulzar was wanted for murdering five people, while Ishrat was wanted in several robbery cases.
He said that police teams had been dispatched to arrest the accomplices of the suspects.
