Nawaz criticises PTI govt for taking credit on projects initiated by PML-N
Former premier says prison TV does not show news channels and he's unable to keep himself informed
LAHORE:
Ousted premier Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said the incumbent government is taking credit for development schemes and projects initiated by the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) government.
"The PTI government is claiming credit for our projects. The health card is not a PTI initiative, but a PML-N project. They [PTI] have nothing to do with it," said Nawaz while meeting party workers who were visiting him in Kot Lakhpat jail.
The former premier's daughter Maryam Nawaz, mother Shamim Akhtar and son-in-law Captain (ret) Safdar visited the PML-N supremo in jail, along with party leaders Pervez Rasheed, Khurram Dastagir, Mushahidullah Khan, Talal Chaudhry, Ameer Muqam, Ayaz Sadiq and various others.
During the meeting with his family members and party leaders, the former premier lamented that the television set provided to him in jail does not have any news channels tuned, and he is unable to gather information on court proceedings.
