Chair gives in to opposition’s demand after NA protest
The newly elected chairmen later took oath to ‘work collectively’ with all members for the greater benefit of Pakistan. The media was not allowed to cover the voting process which was held in-camera.
The PTI’s Chief Whip Amir Dogar said media was not allowed to cover the event in order to maintain secrecy of elections. However, according to sources, the unannounced ban was imposed so that media does not cover any exchange of heated words among the members.
Media was later provided result of the polls through the NA secretariat.
