Student beat bus conductor after argument in Gujranwala

A bus conductor was allegedly beaten by a student and his friends in Gujranwala, Express News reported on Tuesday.
An official of City police station said that Muhammad Rizwan, a resident of Chak Handa, was a student at a private institution. He added that Rizwan wanted to travel to Kamoke Tehsil from Lahore and reached the station to catch a bus. However, he mentioned that when he boarded a bus its conductor, Farhan Butt, asked him to exit the vehicle as it will not stop at Kamoke during the journey.
At this, Rizwan got enraged and he had an argument with Farhan over the matter. Later, after a heated debate he left the bus, he pointed out.
He highlighted that in a bid to take revenge of the humiliation Rizwan hired a private van from Shahidra Morr and called his friends.
He said the accused chased the bus and intercepted it at Bhola Pir station. They dragged Farhan out of the vehicle and beat him, he said.
In the meantime, he elaborated that the area people and bus driver intervened and caught Rizwan, while his friends fled the scene.
The official transpired that the victim and other staff members of the bus blocked GT Road to protest against the incident. Later, officials of City police reached the spot and cleared the road for traffic. The police also arrested the accused and shifted him behind the bars.
On February 10, a man tortured his sister over a property dispute in Tandlianwala tehsil.
Victim Ume Kulsoom was a married woman and the mother of three differently-abled children.
Her late father had equally distributed property worth millions of rupees among his sons and daughters. However, her brother Abdul Qayyum Ghazi was adamant not to give her a share in the said property, despite it being her legal right.
Despite repeated attempts, the brother refused to honour the request. In a bid to claim her share in the property she approached the court and filed a case against Abdul Qayyum.
When her brother learnt about the case, he barged into her house and allegedly beat and tortured her.
