German envoy visits jewellery training centre
The envoy said that Germany had been supporting health, education and clean drinking water projects across Pakistan
QUETTA:
German Ambassador to Pakistan Martin Kobler on Friday urged domestic tourists to inform the world about the natural beauty of Balochistan through social media platforms.
Ambassador Kobler visited the Gems and Jewellery Training Centre in Quetta. He said the people of Balochistan “are very friendly and cooperative”. He said the purpose of his visit to Quetta was to directly meet people and listen to their problems.
The envoy said that Germany had been supporting health, education and clean drinking water projects across Pakistan. He added the federal and provincial government should focus on declining water level.
After Bill Gates letter, German envoy wants to see 'Pakistan's silicon valley'
“The German government has been jointly working with the Pakistan government in all major areas of cooperation. We seek to put in our efforts for the development of Pakistan,” Kobler said.
Stressing the need for promoting tourism in Pakistan, Kobler said that the material on social media was not enough to inform the world about natural beauty of Pakistan, particularly Balochistan. “The tourists from the country should inform the world that Pakistan is one of the beautiful spots in the entire region.”
He pointed out that a large number of women at the centre were being trained under the GIZ TAVET Programme funded by the German government. Earlier, Principal Syed Bashir Agha briefed the ambassador about the training centre.
