Zubaida Bibi reveals her father-in-law and brother-in-law wanted to develop ‘illicit’ relations with her
RAHIM YAR KHAN:
A woman was reportedly beaten by her in-laws in a busy market area of Rahim Yar Khan on Friday.
Zubaida Bibi told Express News that she went to a market situated at Ada Bagh-o-Bahar Chowk. She added in the meantime, her father-in-law and brother-in-law reached the spot and started beating her in front of people.
The victim bemoaned that as she was unable to bear the torture she fell unconscious. Later, local shopkeepers and bystanders intervened and saved her.
Zubaida Bibi revealed that both her father-in-law and brother-in-law wanted to develop ‘illicit’ relations with her. However, when she refused, they assaulted her, she mentioned.
Domestic violence, harassment cases in Punjab on the rise
The woman maintained that the accused had been subjecting her to torture for a long time, but she never disclosed the matter to anyone, including her husband. She highlighted that she loved her husband and does not want to leave him.
Meanwhile, the people caught the accused and informed the police about the incident.
However, the woman refused to initiate legal proceedings against them.
