Senior economists, businessmen and media representatives discussed Pakistan’s economic challenges and brainstormed ways for overcoming obstacles to growth at a seminar organised by Jinnah Institute on strategies for reviving the country’s economy.
Participants agreed that Pakistan needs to overhaul its tax regime and encourage growth of small and medium enterprises. Former Governor State Bank and Treasurer of Board of Governors of the Jinnah Institute Salim Raza noted that Pakistan needs to find ways to increase revenue and decrease wasteful expenditure so that funds can be directed towards stimulating growth.
