Rescue 1122: 156 brawls reported in three months

Hayat says the number of clashes highlights the raising intolerance in the society.

DERA GHAZI KHAN: At least 195 people were injured in 156 incidents reported to the Rescue 1122 in the district from March to May, said Rescue 1122 Divisional Emergency Officer Dr Natique Hayat on Thursday.

He was speaking at a ceremony at the Central Station Chowk Chor-hatta. Hayat said it appeared from the number of clashes and subsequent injuries that intolerance in society was on the rise . He said 125 of these cases were earlier reported in the period between December 2010 and February 2011. He said 143 people were injured in these incidents. He said people should cooperate with the Rescue 1122 to promote peace and tolerance in the society. He said this could be achieved by following the teachings of Quran and sunnah in true spirit.
