Medical experts on Monday highlighted that ailments such as hepatitis are on the rise, despite being easily preventable.
This is primarily because there is little awareness regarding availability of vaccines and the importance of take precautions like personal hygiene.
Experts advise the public to avoid administration of unnecessary injections, drips, and recommend that they follow careful dental treatment, and use only screened blood for transfusion and avoid roadside unhygienic food. Medical expert Dr Javeria Masood while talking to a private news channel said the rubbish dumps can serve as potential breeding sites for mosquitoes and flies that may cause the spread of serious infectious disease outbreaks including Hepatitis and malaria.
She said awareness should be created among the people about the safe disposal of garbage.
