QUETTA: The Balochistan National Party (BNP) Secretary General Jahanzeb Jamaldini has called for giving provinces the authority to use their natural resources, adding that people from Karachi to Kashmir use Balochistan’s gas but ‘our mothers and sisters don’t have access to their own gas’.

“The Center may build dams, metro and other development projects in Gwadar but we can’t let anyone steal our natural resources. Balochistan is our soil and the people who live here are owner of their natural wealth,” he said while talking to media after a workers’ convention in Dera Allah Yar on Friday.

“Despite billions of dollars’ investment in Gawadar, local population that lives in the heart of CPEC [China-Pakistan Economic Corridor] is looking for clean drinking water,” the senator added.

BNP-M a true voice of Balochistan: Mengal

Sharing his views on missing persons, Jamaldini said finally implementation on one of the BNP’s six-point formula has begun and missing persons are returning home. The BNP-Mengal has been raising voice for the safe recovery of all missing persons, he added.

Talking about poverty in Naseerabad Division, he said the division is part of the country’s green belt but according to him the division has been deprived of basic facilities on purpose.

“Leaders from this specific area have even enjoyed the positions of prime minister and chief ministers but people living in the whole division are deprived of basic facilities including education, health and clean drinking water,” he lamented.

He said the BNP-M will fully participate in local government elections and its workers should take Sardar Akhtar Mengal’s message to every home.
