The aim of the startup is to let users view, save and share their glucose readings by connecting to a smartphone
With the number of diabetic patients increasing in Pakistan, the fight against its proper management is essential. Digital healthcare startup Medworks, that is centred around supervision and management of diabetes, has launched a glucose-based smartphone app known as Glu-Sage.

Once you have downloaded the app on your smartphone and have the glucose meter as well, you simply plug it into the headphone jack of your smartphone. You then slide the testing strip of Glu-Sage withdrawing a draw a drop of blood onto the strip. The app will process the information and show you the results.
The aim of the startup is to let users view, save and share their glucose readings by connecting to a smartphone. With the help of the app, healthcare providers can easily know the problem areas and make adjustments to medication and diet.
Glucose logbooks are automatically maintained and colour-coded by the glucose targets of each individual. The data is stored for up to 90 days in the phones memory and then securely it is moved to the HIPAA-compliant cloud server which makes it retrievable at any point.
