Education woes: 3.24m students in Punjab deprived of school education
Responsibility increases on Education Department as CM Punjab takes notice of the education lag.

According to a survey report taken out by the School Education Department, 3.27 million students out of a total number of 12.8 million, within the age bracket of 4-6 years are still not able to get an admission in schools in Punjab.
The Education Department was supposed to ensure a 100 per cent attendance of students up to 10 years of age enrolled in schools all over Punjab by April 1, 2011.
According to sources, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has taken a serious note of this lapse and has instructed all the EDOs education across Punjab to ensure the given target of accomplishing a 100 per cent attendance by October 31, 2011.
