Mumbai attack case hearing adjourned by ATC till February 13
IHC had barred the ATC for further proceedings in the case
ISLAMABAD:
An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of Mumbai attack case till February 13 as the prosecutor told the court that the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had issued a stay order and barred the ATC for further proceedings in the case till the next decision of the IHC.
The prosecution had filed a petition in IHC for recalling 19 witnesses, who had earlier testified or given up which was earlier rejected by the ATC.
The IHC suspended the proceedings of the case at the ATC till the decision of the petition. It may be added that issue of calling 27 foreign witnesses is still pending in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mumbai attack case hearing suspended
The hearing of post arrest bail application of five accused in the case was also adjourned by ATC Judge Kausar Abbas Zaidi.
The hearing was adjourned till February 13.
The Mumbai attacks were a group of terror attacks that took place in November 2008.
Terrorists carried out a series of 12 coordinated shooting and bombing attacks lasting four days across India's metropolis Mumbai.
The attacks, which drew widespread global condemnation, began on 26 November and lasted until 29 November 2008.
At least 174 people died, including 9 attackers, and more than 300 were wounded.
