LAHORE: Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar has said money laundering and terrorism were unacceptable and unpardonable crimes.

He expressed these views during a meeting with different delegations at the Governor House on Saturday.

“The process of accountability will not stop now. Provision of justice, the supremacy of the Constitution, stability of the economy and provision of employment to the youth are the top objectives of our government,” he said. “The PTI government is taking difficult decisions. Everyone will see an epoch of prosperity and development in Pakistan. The nation is united against terrorism and every conspiracy of the enemies will be foiled. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is transferring powers from the top to the bottom.”

The governor said the current account deficit and absence of clean drinking water were the top challenges faced by the government. “The PTI government has raised the issue of corruption and we will recover the looted wealth. We are transforming the education and health system in Pakistan,” Sarwar said.

He said Pakistan would become part of global efforts against climate change because Pakistan was among the top five victims of climate change. He called on representatives of the society and media persons to make climate change a fundamental part of their debates.

“The fourth industrial revolution is also impacting Pakistan. It is a perplexing challenge to reenergise industrial production in Pakistan but it is impossible without technology,” he remarked. Exchanging his views, he said human rights were his core concern. “The government is trying and working to protect the fundamental rights of the people. Abuse of human rights brings chaos and anarchy in society. South Punjab is the core concern of the provincial government,” Sarwar said.
