15th convocation: Isra University confers degrees on 397 students

Bachelors, postgraduates and doctorate degrees were awarded in medical sciences

HYDERABAD:
As many as 397 students who graduated in different disciplines from Isra University were conferred their academic degrees at the varsity’s 15th annual convocation in Hyderabad on Saturday. Some 265 students received degree for Bachelors in medical sciences, dentistry, nursing and physical therapy while 24 post graduate degrees were awarded in different programs of medical and allied medical sciences.

In addition, 107 students received degrees for bachelors and masters in business administration, electrical engineering, computer science, electronics, information technology, software engineering and telecommunications. A student was also conferred a doctor of philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry.

400 students awarded degrees in different disciplines

The top graduates including Komal Aijaz, Bakhtawar, Maira Murtaza, Shanza, Soha, Iram, and Rabia were awarded gold medals. The silver medals were awarded to Amad Alam, Rabia, Sehat Kanwal, Samreen Noor Lakho, Murk Yousfani, Soohan and Hina Qasim whereas Syeda Nimra, Reeta Baee, Anam, Geeta, Salahuddin and Hina Qasim received the bronze medals.


While addressing the convocation, Isra University Chancellor Dr Asadullah Kazi acknowledged the role and obligation which have been given to the universities in age of innovation and change. “We must get ready for globalisation, which is like a river that has burst its banks. Learn to swim to avoid being drowned,” he told the students.

NUST SCEE holds 7th convocation on campus

Isra Islamic Foundation President Dr Ghulam Qadir Kazi expressed the hope that the graduating students of the university would demonstrate purpose of knowledge and urged them to be competitive and participatory.

Vice Chancellor Dr Abdul Rashid Shaikh also spoke at the convocation. The dignitaries, families of students, faculty members and a large number of students attended the event.
