Gender representation: FWBL initiates training courses for women
Govt should assist women to play a more active role in development.
ISLAMABAD:
First Women Bank Limited (FWBL) President Shafqat Sultana on Wednesday said that the institution will continue to strive for economic empowerment of women by employing all available resources to enhance their capacity.
FWBL has initiated many training courses for entrepreneurial capacity-building and skill development so that women were represented in all economic sectors, and become a productive part of the economy, said Sultana who also added that training will be given to women in banking, accounts, products, imports, exports and other commercial activities.
Islamabad Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI) President Samina Fazil demanded the government to reduce mark up for women seeking loans, relax procedures of guarantees for loans and provide additional incentives to enable 52 per cent of the population to play a more active role in the development of the country.
Increasing access to female education should not be ignored, as it is imperative for national development, added Fazil.
