Rangers arrest suspect over theft in NADRA
Claim to have seized stolen national identity cards from him
KARACHI:
Sindh Rangers claimed to have arrested on Thursday the primary suspect involved in the burglary at NADRA Landhi office during an operation in Landhi and seized stolen national identity cards (NICs) from him.
Yesterday, around 1,800 NICs and entry registers were stolen, according to NADRA officials. Rangers’ spokesperson said the burglary was carried out on Tuesday night. The special investigation team conducted an intelligence-based operation in Landhi no. 3.5 and arrested the primary suspect, Waleed Hussain, son of Wajid Hussain. Registration forms, two cards of the Benazir Income Support Programme, and 803 stolen NICs were seized from the accused. Suspect, Waleed Hussain, confessed during the initial investigation that the number of stolen NICs was 803, and they were kept at his relative’s house.
