MULTAN:
A 70-year-old man, who recently remarried was drugged and robbed by his wife.
According to residents in Adda Zakhera, Village 295-WB resident Faiz Buksh, 70, recently contracted his second marriage with a 30-year-old woman Safia Bibi.
On Wednesday morning, Faiz was found lying unconscious in his room and most of his furniture had been robbed. “She completely cleared the place. We suspect that she drugged him and brought in her brothers to take away his things and money,” said a neighbour Riaz.
Locals told police officials that the nikah ceremony was contracted at the Lorry Adda in Bahawalpur and Faiz brought his bride home on Tuesday night. “Another woman accompanied the bride. We were told she was her cousin but now we think she was part of the robbery plot,” Riaz said. Faiz has registered a complaint with the police and said that Safia had escaped with over Rs300,000, gold jewellery and his furniture.
Faiz has been shifted to Nishtar Hospital for treatment after he began experiencing complications from the sedatives.
