Pakistani squash players lauded for Asian Junior Championship victory

Federation president calls winning team participants country’s heroes

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Squash Federation president and Pakistan Air Force head Air Chief Marshall Mujahid Anwar Khan has said that “squash players are country’s heroes” and “I feel proud when I see Pakistani players making name in squash”.

“I feel quite happy on victory against India, we have fought great wars against terrorism, today the peace has been restored,” he said.

These views were expressed while addressing a junior squash championship event organised for national junior squash players with exemplary performance in which Pakistan Squash Federation’s Air Marshall Shahid Alvi, private hotel’s CEO Aziz Bolani, Pakistan Squash Federation’s General Secretary squadron leader Amir, Team Manager Qadoi, national player Farhan Hashmi, Coach Afzal Shah, Coach Asif Khan, players and their parents participated.

Pakistan Air Force chief said that: “players are national assets, players have asked for cars, cars are small, players make nation proud, we will give them airplanes, this is not a one-day victory, there’s effort behind this victory.”

He continued: “Defeating India in Asian Junior Squash Championship is a success. Victory against India is good news for me and the nation. We are headed in the right direction. Junior players will make Pakistan proud in the future.”
