Railways to set up complaint portal
The department has initiated a campaign against ticket dodgers, which significantly curbed their numbers
ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan Railways has finalised all arrangements to establish an online complaint centre in Islamabad, which will start functioning from the second week of February, to address passenger grievances without any delay. “Passengers will now be able to lodge complaints against the railways’ staff, cleanliness and train timings through the website or phone,” an official of the Ministry of Railways told APP. Answering a question, he added that the department had initiated a campaign against ticket dodgers, which significantly curbed their numbers. The official shared that instead of imposing hefty fines, the entity was considering a proposal to send ticket dodgers directly to jail. “The department bears a weekly loss of Rs60 million due to the ticket dodgers,” he lamented.
