BAHAWALPUR:

After nine years of being married, a resident of Jalalpur Pirwala gave birth to sextuplets, at Civil Hospital, Bahawalpur, The Express Tribune learnt.

Reportedly, 28-year-old Hina was brought to Civil Hospital two days ago after she went into labour. Late Sunday night, she gave birth to four girls and two boys.

Civil Hospital Bahawalpur Spokesperson Dr Hamid said that this was the first time he had witnessed the birth of six babies at one time. However, due to the fact that the children were born premature, one of the girls, who weighed around 0.2 kilogrammes, was not able to survive and died a few hours after being born, he said.

“The other children are out of danger and are being kept in incubators for the time being,” he stated. The mother is also healthy, he added.

The mother revealed that she is over the moon. “I have been waiting for this day for a long time,” she said. She added that she will name the children after she takes them home and after consulting with her parents and in-laws.

The father, Javed, who runs a general store in Jalalpur Pirwala, stated that today was a joyous day for him and his family. All of my family members are ecstatic. “I will try my best to give these children a healthy life and proper education,” he expressed.

The family of the parents said that Hina had gotten married nine years ago. After nine years, God has blessed her with an abundance of children, they exclaimed.

As soon as news of the quintuplet’s birth spread, a large crowd of people thronged the medical facility to catch a glimpse of the children.
