18th amendment: Implementation commission summons chief secretaries

The 18th amendment implementation commission has summoned the Chief Secretaries of the four provinces on Thursday to finalise the transfer of  ministries to provinces.

The implementation commission meeting took place under the chairmanship of Raza Rabbani in the Parliament house in Islamabad.

After the meeting, Senator Raza Rabbani told the media that the commission will complete the constitutional work of ministries transfer by June 30. Raza Rabbani also said that letter written by PML-Q member Waseem Sajjad on this issue is also being reviewed.

Regarding his meeting with president Asif Ali Zardari, he said the meeting had nothing to do with the transfer of ministries to provinces nor there is any pressure on the issue.

The commission had earlier delayed the devolution of three ministries to the provinces till June due to time constraints.

The ministries of Sports, Environment and Women Development were to be devolved in the third phase, but will now be devolved in the fourth phase with four other ministries in June.
