In this regard, Punjab Education Ministry secretary has issued a notification in all 36 districts of Punjab. The notice warns that violators will face a stringent inquiry as per the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act 2006.
School heads to be charged under PEEDA Act
The document adds that teaching and non-teaching staff often leave the school to travel to other places or offices which affects the education system badly.
It has been further directed to implement these orders in letter and spirit or face an institutional inquiry. Teaching and non-teaching staff can leave schools during office hours after taking due permission from the concerned officer.
