Maintenance Contract: Malaysian, Pakistani firms sign $14m deal

TNB Remaco will provide services for five years, with an option to extend for another seven years.

KUALA LAMPUR: Malaysia’s TNB Repair & Maintenance Sdn Bhd (TNB Remaco) has secured an operation and maintenance contract from Pakistan’s Laraib Energy Limited for 84-megawatt New Bong Escape Hydroelectric Power Complex on the Jhelum River in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Under US$14.08 million contract, TNB Remaco will provide services for five years, with an option to extend for another seven years, TNB Remaco Chairman Datuk Seri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh said on Tuesday, according to Bernama news agency. “This new agreement marks TNB Remaco’s second collaboration with Hub Power Company (a major shareholder of Laraib Energy), first being the operation and maintenance agreement for 213.6MW diesel and co-generation power plant in Punjab,” said TNB President Che Khalid.
