PESHAWAR: Peace has returned to the country and so have tourists.

Two Italian women tourists visited on Thursday different historical and cultural spots in Peshawar.

The foreign visitors, identified as Laura and Dara, rode through the historical city, and took keen interest in its art, food, jewellery and ancient structures.

They also mingled with the locals, who accorded them warm welcome.

The visitors said with the restoration of peace in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, they could visit any place without any fear.

"We will share the experience of our visit to this historic city when we go back to our country," one of the two visitors was quoted as saying.

Last year, K-P Chief Minister Mehmood Khan had said that the provincial government was chalking out plans to attract domestic and foreign tourists, especially in northern areas.
