Rs3m worth wires, cables thief held
KARACHI:
The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) arrested a thief who used to steal telecom wires and recovered cables worth Rs3 million during a raid at PIB Colony on Friday.
An SIU official informed The Express Tribune that their team conducted the raid on a tip-off near Noor Hotel and apprehended Iftikhar Pathan, along with Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited’s wire worth almost Rs3 million.
The official added that the accused had been arrested earlier by the Boat Basin police for stealing wires.
Meanwhile, officials of Anti Violent Crime Cell also arrested notorious criminals Amjad, Abdul Hameed and Abdul Rehman and seized three TT pistols, ammunition and a stolen hi-roof van from their possession.
The officials said that they conducted the raid in Block-S, North Nazimabad, adding that the accused were involved in several robberies and have served time in jail as well.
