ISLAMABAD:
The Election Commission of Pakistan has reserved its decision on the ineligibility of Islamabad’s Deputy Mayor Rafat Javed along with six other members of the federal capital’s local government after they failed to present a copy of the stay order reportedly issued by the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The five-member commission, which had heard the ineligibility case, was chaired by the Chief Election Commissioner. The commission had taken notice of the election of property dealers on seats for farmers.
In another case, while refuting the objections on the delimitations of Charsadda district, the commission overturned their reserved verdict and upheld their previous decision.
