PESHAWAR:
Peshawar High Court Justice Qaiser Rasheed has issued directives to forfeit the salary of assistant commissioner Mohmand district for not following court orders. He issued the direction while hearing the case of a convict who has not been released despite serving his full sentence. A petitioner, Imran, had filed an application for his release through Advocate Rasheed Ahmed.  The petitioner had been sentenced to five year imprisonment for his connections with a proscribed organisation. However, in spite of completing the sentence a year ago, the assistant commissioner Mohmand was not signing his release orders. The petitioner said that even though PHC has thrice issued directives to the assistant commissioner for releasing him, the officer did not comply. The bench expressing dismay over the conduct of the officer issued directives to forfeit his salary and issued him show-cause notice.
