GILGIT: A 22-year-old nurse from Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B), who was missing for almost 10 days in Karachi had actually gone off to tie the knot with her lover in Multan.

Khush Bakht released a statement before the Malir Police on Saturday, claiming she married Qurban out of her own free will.

The nurse said she did not want to go back to her parents but instead preferred to live with her husband. Her statement was shared by Sindh Police on Twitter.

The nurse left her home on January 4 and instead of going to office went to Qurban.

G-B nurse goes missing in Karachi

“From Karachi, they went to Multan where they tied the knot in a court marriage. After which they moved to Muzaffargarh.”

However, it was unclear how and where the Sindh Police intercepted them and took them to Malir Police Station, where the nurse recorded her statement.

Her relatives are also clueless about where her lover belonged to.

Earlier on December 12, it was reported that the G-B government had  stepped in to help trace Khush Bakht.

She was working as a nursing assistant at Saifee Hospital in North Nazimabad, Karachi.

On January 4, it was believed that she went to her work in the morning but did not return home.

Upon her disappearance, her relatives asked hospital management about her whereabouts but to no avail.
