Table tennis president skips meeting
KARACHI:
Pakistan Table Tennis Federation (PTTF) President Riaz Ahmed, under-fire for the team missing their World Championship match, also skipped an important meeting of the Asian Table Tennis Union during his stay in Moscow.
The Express Tribune has learnt via players and officials that Ahmed was due to attend the meeting but failed to turn up without giving any reasons. The meeting was held during the World Championship where Pakistan also missed a match because the team failed to realise the timings had changed.
According to the players, Ahmed was trying to save his skin by holding the organisers responsible for the change of timings as they had directed all the participants to check their pigeon boxes for the schedule but Ahmed had failed to do that.
